Melvin Harris Promoted to Supervisor of Operations in Texas
Melvin Harris has been promoted to Supervisor of Operations at Tower Loan, advancing into a regional leadership role overseeing operations across eight Texas offices, including Tyler, Richardson, Longview, Round Rock, Sulphur Springs, Garland, Northwest Austin, and McKinney. In this position, Harris will focus on developing branch managers, strengthening teams, and supporting continued growth and operational success throughout the region.
Harris joined Tower Loan in June 2021 as a Manager Trainee in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. During his time with the company, he has held leadership roles in Arlington, Fort Worth, and DeSoto, Texas, consistently demonstrating strong leadership, operational performance, and a commitment to employee development.
Harris is originally from Buford, Georgia, where he graduated from Buford High School in 2008. A standout student-athlete, he earned All-State honors in football, served as a team captain, and lettered in football, basketball, and track. He continued his football career at the University of Mississippi from 2008 to 2011, then at the University of North Alabama from 2011 to 2012.
Recently, Harris returned to his hometown of Buford to speak during the inauguration ceremony for Philip Beard Stadium at Buford High School, reflecting on the impact athletics and community support had on his personal and professional journey.
“Continuing to build a legacy my kids can be proud of while motivating, influencing, and positively impacting other people’s lives is what excites me most about this opportunity,” said Harris.
Outside of work, Harris serves as a volunteer head football coach and frequently volunteers as a public speaker for high school students and athletes.
Throughout his career at Tower Loan, Harris has been recognized for his leadership, drive, and ability to develop strong teams. He is also a Tower University graduate, completing the program in May 2025.
