Celebrating 25 Years of Dedication: Elizabeth “Liz” Wash
This month, we celebrate Elizabeth Wash—better known to many as Liz—for her 25 years of dedicated service as a Customer Service Representative in Ruleville, Mississippi. March 20 would have marked 26 years, but Liz has decided to embrace retirement after a career filled with hard work, memorable moments, and meaningful relationships.
When reflecting on her time at Tower, Liz’s stories highlight both her sense of humor and her deep care for her customers. “I knew every customer—all of my customers were special to me. And if I did forget their name, they would be on me!” she shared with a laugh. For Liz, each customer relationship was personal, and her genuine care made her a familiar and trusted face in the community.
Her positivity and warmth left lasting impressions, not only on customers but also on coworkers. Liz fondly recalled how leaders like Jason Smith and Jody Macon provided “teachable moments” and showed compassion that shaped her career: “He wouldn’t make you feel bad—he’d just say, ‘This is how you can do that.’ That made me comfortable, even if I asked a dumb question.” She was so well-respected that every Manager Trainee who relocated tried to take her with them—a true testament to her value and the impact she made on those she worked alongside.
When asked what advice she would give someone just starting out at Tower Loan, Liz’s words were simple yet powerful: “No job is going to go the way you want it to go. You’re going to have some ups and downs, but you need to be consistent in your work, and I promise it will get better. Not every day is perfect, but it’s a learning experience.”
As she steps into retirement, Liz is looking forward to enjoying a slower pace. “Right now, I am just relaxing. I love my job. I just felt it was time to give up all that.”
Liz’s career is a testament to finding joy in your work, valuing relationships, and treating every customer with care. Her legacy of consistency, hard work, and kindness will be remembered by both her team and the many customers she served over the years.
Thank you, Liz, for 25 years of service, laughter, and dedication—you will be missed and always remembered with gratitude.
